For International Women’s Day, the data team at Mapbox will join hands with crowd2map Tanzania in helping the fight against female genital mutilation in the region of Mara, Tanzania.

Working with volunteers across the globe, we will be adding missing village schools to the map where teenage girls are at risk from the outdated practice. The map will directly aid volunteers on the ground in their outreach efforts to raise awareness about female genital mutilation and rescue girls from affected areas.
