Thursday, the White House released a draft open source policy for public comment. The policy aims to “require new software developed specifically for or by the Federal Government to be made available for sharing and re-use across Federal agencies” and comes as a part of the open source code and data commitments lined out in the Second Open Government National Action Plan.
This is a huge step towards a more efficient and functional government. We’re proud to support it with a vast number of open source software and data projects we create and help maintain.
