CNN launches custom maps

CNN recently launched custom maps with story locators to highlight breaking news. They designed the maps in Mapbox Studio and used our static map API to embed them in news articles.

For stories that need more geographic details, CNN uses our worldwide satellite baselayer. From travel advice to earthquakes in Wyoming to the capture of El-Chapo, CNN now has the flexibility to match the best map to the headline.
