Hybrid platforms like Apache Cordova and Ionic make mobile development accessible to web developers and compatible with a massive ecosystem of JavaScript, HTML, and CSS tools & libraries.
This approach works great for basic applications, but starts to fall short when you need advanced features like maps, which don’t perform as well in a WebView or UIWebView.
