New turn restrictions on Market Street

On Tuesday the Safer Market Street Restrictions went into effect in San Francisco, adding 14 new turn restrictions onto Market Street in downtown San Francisco between 3rd and 8th Streets. Drivers can still cross Market, a major arterial thoroughfare, and bicycles, taxis, public transit, paratransit, emergency and commercial vehicles are exempt from the new restrictions.

Our data team updated the new turn restrictions in OpenStreetMap right away, so they’re now live on the Mapbox Directions API. So when you request driving directions anywhere around the Market Street corridor, you’ll be getting the most up-to-date, legal driving directions possible.
