Whether it’s in Washington D.C., San Francisco, Ayacucho, or Bengaluru, there’s always something cooking at Mapbox. In Bengaluru, July is shaping up to be an exciting month. After returning the most successful State of the Map US, we’re pushing full steam on all fronts to make OpenStreetMap the best map, build a world-class data team, and community building.
This past week, our team were in Delhi and in Mysuru at the GSSS Institute of Engineering and Technology for Women to build awareness around OpenStreetMap in disaster response for experienced journalists, researchers and developers, and mapping using open source tools for aspiring engineering students. What’s thrilling is the response, which has been nothing short of overwhelming as we have expanded our boundaries visiting different places to spread the map love to a diverse audience.
We asked the students at GSSS, “Who here wants to be a mapper?”
Over the next couple of weeks, our team will lead several events around open source software, and mapping - including the AntHillHacks, LearnUp at our offices in Bengaluru and the Free Software Movement Karnataka Camp.
We would love to see you at one of these events! Catch me on twitter or ping anyone on our team to talk about what we do at Mapbox and join us!
