This week a new version of the Open Source Routing Machine was released.
The OSRM 4.6 series brings some exciting new features such as a plugin for map matching, which enables you to snap GPS traces to the road network. The plugin implements the previously-introduced Hidden-Markov-Chain based approach by Newson & Krumm.
We rolled the new version out to our production servers already, where they power the driving and walking directions of the Mapbox Directions API. Stay tuned for the new features of map matching to be included in the Mapbox Directions API soon.
