Lane Detection API — Vision SDK

By Eric Gundersen

The new lane detection API, part of today’s relaunch of the Vision SDK(v0.12.0), exposes normalized relative lane position, estimated lane width in meters, polynomial estimate of the lane centerline, and polynomial estimates of the left and right lane boundaries for the ego (home) lane and adjacent lanes.

As part of this release we re-annotated 100% of our lane detection training data and did a massive update to our training pipeline, improving our lane detection quality across the board. As measured by intersection over union of our lane boundary segmentation, we improved our ego lane detection quality by 25% and our neighboring lane detection quality by 35%.
