New workflows in Mapbox Studio for better maps, faster
By: Jaime Chen
We’re so excited about our new Style Generator & Monochrome map style, which provides a better starting point for creating totally custom map styles.
We know how much Mapbox builders value the ability to create differentiated, engaging user experiences with branded and custom maps —but it can be a challenge to get started. It helps to have a simple, clean baseline template and that’s why Mapbox Light and Mapbox Dark are some of the most popular starting points for map customization.
Our new Style Generator & Monochrome map style make it even easier to start a custom style that matches your brand identity or app look-and-feel.
When you choose the Monochrome map style, you can select from five new pre-set monochrome options that look great on a map — Sky, Royal, Bubblegum, Midnight, and Golden — OR use the Style Generator to create a completely new monochrome style based on a custom color of your choosing.
That means, with literally four clicks, you can create a custom style with a clean base map, totally on brand.
We can’t wait to see what you build now that it’s even easier to begin the map style creation process with our Style Generator & Monochrome map style.
Read more in our documentation, and show us what you build by tagging @mapbox on twitter.
This is one of three updates to Mapbox Studio being released this week to improve your design workflow and help you create better maps, faster. We’ve also launched a new Draft Editing Workflow to improve style management, collaboration, and iteration speed, and a Streamlined Style Editor that provides maximum screen real estate when designing a map.
