The free Haulynx application, powered by Mapbox navigation, is now available for Android devices.
Haulynx is an IOT technology company that provides interstate freight carriers in the transportation industry with free products and services that are mandated by law. Their Smart Load Matching Algorithm uses the data these devices gather to determine the ideal carrier for a given load. This technology is necessary because of an increasing shortage of available drivers to move freight. By using data, Haulynx finds available capacity in freight carriers, reducing empty miles, and optimizing efficiency. Brokers pay Haulynx to use their platform to locate available carriers and increase the efficiency of the load distribution process.
Haulynx worked with Mapbox to enhance their load distribution application by adding truck routing—turn-by-turn navigation optimized with vehicle and load specifications, currently in private beta from Mapbox — as well as geo-fencing and dynamic ETAs.
“We chose Mapbox as our technology partner because they provide us with innovative tools that are easily integrated into our application. The Mapbox team enthusiastically supports our vision and is able to provide us with additional ideas, insights and support to bring the vision to reality.” — Anthony Kamar, CEO
Interstate freight carriers using the Haulynx application will now be able to make themselves available to receive loads offered from the Haulynx network of independent brokers. Carriers will be able to accept these loads and assign them to any driver and asset in their fleet.
Once the load is accepted and assigned, our turn-by-turn navigation guides carriers to their pick up and delivery locations while considering the routing requirement for each truck and the load it’s carrying.
The geo-fencing feature will send automatic notifications to brokers and shippers throughout the entire life cycle of the load, from pre-pickup through delivery confirmation.
The combination of Mapbox dynamic ETAs and Haulynx predictive analytics allows shippers and brokers to anticipate problems by considering distance, traffic, weather and hours of service issues.
“Integrating Mapbox maps and turn-by-turn navigation was very straightforward for our development team. The Mapbox SDKs feature a wide range of easy to use drop in views and UI elements. Though we were on an extremely tight development timeline, our design team had a significant amount of latitude in creating new mapping and navigational features that are specific to the Haulynx application. We were able to create an embedded turn-by-turn navigation view and enable Mapbox’s new beta truck routing APIs with maximum efficiency.” — Anthony Kamar, CEO
