San Francisco’s Coit Tower replaced with a futuristic version using the new ReplaceFeatureModifier

By: Miroslav Lysyuk

The Maps SDK for Unity 1.4.3 release streamlines your ability to customize our global building data with new easy-to-use building replacement and styling features. Developers working in everything from gaming to architectural design will find these updates a welcome addition to their workflows, making it easier to combine custom designs with real world data.

Replace any building in any city

With the new ReplaceFeatureModifier you can select any 3D model and assign it to replace buildings at any latitude and longitude coordinates you specify. Visualize custom architectural models in the context of a city or turn any city into a futuristic landscape for a game using the real-world model as a starting point.

Prepackaged styles from realistic to fantasy

You can now select from several default building styles included with the SDK or customize your own. Our hyper-realistic, fantasy, or simple light & dark styles give you versatile launching points for your projects. With the Custom styling option, you’re able to define texturing with our Atlas guides, making it easier to generate and style your worlds based on the real one.
