The latest Mapbox Unity SDK 1.2 now ships with a visual Map Editor — a graphical user interface for designing location based game components. Designing the Map Editor, we set out to make customizing map content intuitive and agile. The user interface is node based: Use boxes representing map functionality and connect them to extrude buildings, import raster maps, or spawn gameplay in locations like parks and more.
You’ll find the Map Editor in the Mapbox menu after installing the latest Mapbox Unity SDK in your project. We built the Map Editor on top of the Map Factory framework, so you still have access to the underlying functionality on a code level.
Show us what you built. Share your demo and mention @Mapbox on Twitter or Instagram and use the hashtag #BuiltWithMapbox. If you’re at Unite Austin, drop by booth 608 to talk with us about maps and AR in Unity.
