Snapchat now lets you and your friends drop a pin on a map and collect all of your snaps in that area into custom Stories. You choose who can view your snaps and which friends can post to your custom Story. You’re no longer restricted to just posting to your own Story. Snapchat is now letting anybody create and share custom Stories whenever they want for the events that matter to them. So this weekend when you’re at the Warriors game or BottleRock, you can create custom Stories to collect all your friends’ snaps.
As The Verge’s Casey Newton explains:
To create a custom story, you tap the new “Create Story” icon in the top-right corner of the Stories screen. Give your story a name, and then invite the friends you want to participate — no matter where in the world they live. You can also invite all nearby Snapchat users to participate; Snapchat will create a 1-block geofence around your current location; those stories can only be seen and contributed to by your friends and, if you like, friends of friends.
Snapchat is now tagging billions of snaps a day for custom Stories so you and your friends can map the snaps you take.
