We arrive tomorrow in Colorado Springs for the annual meeting of the North American Cartographic Information Society (NACIS)! Wednesday, October 19th:
- 9:00AM– To kick off Wednesday’s Practical Cartography Day, Nathaniel Slaughter will present on iconographic processes and design in “Maki 3.0: open sourced icons for maps”.
- 10:45AM– Molly Lloyd will demonstrate data driven styling uses for dynamic data visualizations and base map design in “Data Driven Styling for GL Mapping”.
Thursday, October 20th:
- 9:00AM– Sam Matthews will walk through ways we’ve increased speed and performance for GL-based maps in “Maps are Fast and So Can You”.
- 10:40AM– NACIS veteran Lyzi Diamond will discuss new ideas for teaching geospatial technology in universities during “From button pushing to problem solving: modern geospatial technology in the classroom”.
Friday, October 21st:
- 10:40AM– Konstantin Käfer will dive into DEM data sourcing, processing, and distribution, as well as give a sneak peek into the future of terrain on Mapbox GL during “Dynamic Terrain Visualization”.
- 2:00PM– Amy Lee Walton will discuss our ongoing efforts to integrate testing into the map design process during“Software Testing: How “Tests” Can Improve Map Design”.
